Cameroonian Miss girl / gateau recipe

A very good and simple recipe for a very yummy Cameroonian gateau or miss girl . This reminds me of Africa because it’s exactly the way our moms used to make this special goodness. Every Cameroonian food lover should have this recipe in their kitchen repertoire.

Cameroonian ‘Miss girl’ are deep-fried dough balls, bigger than puff puff balls with crunchy, slightly cracky outer crusts and soft and drawy densely packed interior.

They differ from puff puff balls in the way they look, but especially in the composition of the dough; the miss girl dough is thicker meaning that, we use less liquid, that is, less milk instead of water as in puff puff and we use eggs. We roll and keep to rise for an hour.

This is an irresistable African street delight.

This delicious goodness can be serve as breakfast, snack in the lunch box , as picnic delight or just to quench of lust for a delicious tropical street goodness .

Ok lovelies let’s go to my kitchen and start making the best version of Cameroonian ‘miss girl’ / gateau though i don’t know the history behind the name ‘miss girl’ as called in the English speaking region of Cameroon. Drop your your comment if you have an idea of the history behind the name ‘miss girl’ as we call girl in Cameroon.
